Lori and I are making Shrimp Scampi for dinner Tuesday night. That’s our comfort, with some wine, of course! Going to watch, wait and pray!

Can’t wait to try your recipes!

I have all manner of snacks, Liz! Cheeses, chips, olives, crackers, prosciutto and wine. And we may order a sausage pizza, too! 🤣 how about you?

That sounds great! I’m making 2 cozy dishes- Pasta Rustica w/ chicken sausage and for old times sake, my son’s childhood favorite, Tuna Casserole! And a nice green salad with blue cheese. With copious amounts of Tito’s…

I’m losing it, Liz, you had all this deliciousness in your post, forgive me! 🤣 Tito’s! 👏👏👏

I'm extremely nervous myself, Liz. Living in Alabama as a gay man, surrounded by certain flags, sometimes I feel like I'm swimming in shark-infested waters and just realized I have a nosebleed. I'm not sure what Dan and I will have. One of my favorite comfort foods he makes is his version of chicken noodle soup, but with cheese tortellini instead of noodles. I might ask him to make that, now that I think about it 🙂 We have to keep going and stay strong! I'm voting first thing in the morning.

I can only imagine, Skylar. I think having cheese tortellini in your chicken soup would make it extra comforting. Hang in there!

I absolutely love NOT WHILE I’M AROUND. Your Catalan version is breathtaking. And an apt song for how many of us are feeling. I made a gooey, cheesy baked pasta for tonight’s dinner, but tomorrow my son, Max, daughter, Emma, Emma’s husband, and some of her girlfriends will hunker down with us in our Brooklyn brownstone and eat pizza—more cheese!—, salad, and, if get my act together, Dorie Greenspan’s world peace cookies—something we sure could use right now. Sending my best to you and your family. Here’s to hope….

Thanks, Susan. How wonderful you will all be together. Nothing is better than melted cheese in times like this. Here’s to hope!

WOW...This sounds absolutely amazing. You may find it odd, but this was a song I sang to my beloved Shih Tzu, Rosco from the time we rescued him until the day he left us for the rainbow bridge. It seemed to calm him down and I cannot hear or sing it without crying. He was our angel. Thank You for sharing that...and I am looking forward to that Lullabye Album!

I love that you sang NWIA to your sweet doggie. I had a Shih Tzu growing up named Jenny- I loved her so.

Thank you for this. Really struggling as an adult to understand, but more so trying to help my 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter (your San Francisco buddy Tatum says ‘hi’ 😁) process it. He is angry and disappointed yes, but for her….How will they not wonder how it is that no matter how intelligent, hardworking, well spoken, prepared, honest and heartfelt you are, you may still not be seen as good enough? Time to mourn for sure, but time to be good humans and move onward and upward. 💙 (And yes we do really need that lullaby album!)

Please say hi for Tatum for me. It’s so hard to for all of us to understand. But yes, we must keep going!

Our comfort food last night was ribs and baked potatoes from a local joint -- no cooking for us after a day on the golf course (walking). Lovely newsletter - lovely song in Catalan. Not the outcome we wanted and sadly, sooooo many people just didn't vote (what's that about?)! Alas, we will persist and survive with all the hope and optimism we can muster!

I will, Steve. Who knows, maybe I’ll make that Lullabies for Grown-Ups album.

Lullabies for Grown-Ups? I love it!!! Every album should come with edibles and a nice soft blanket. I'll be number one on the waiting list.

Liz, your lovely rendition of “Not While I’m Around” is so comforting. I was fortunate to be able to hear you sing it live at your recent New Hampshire concert. A wonderful memory for me!
