Hi Friends.
Greetings from Indy. I was planning on sending out a “Sondheim Edition” of my newsletter next week, but I couldn’t wait to share this news with you.
This morning I did an 11:00 AM “Coffee Concert” with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. After the concert ended, I went upstairs to my dressing room and saw that I had dozens of texts congratulating me on my Grammy nomination. I thought, oh wow, I must have been nominated for my liner notes. Never in a million years did I think my Sondheim album would be nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Album!
I’m truly stunned. And so happy- not just for myself, but for everyone who was a part of making this album- it was truly a team effort.
I’d write more, but I must go to my evening concert with the ISO.
More next week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo Liz
PS I’m doing my Sondheim concerts in Madrid next week at the Teatro Real. I’ve never been to Madrid. Any suggestions?
PPS My favorite text of the day came from my son, Nicholas, who sings “Move On” with me on the album.
Mazel tov, Liz! I’m so happy for you & your team! You absolutely deserve this nomination! Deb & I are veryexcited that you’ll be in Austin in a few weeks to preform for Austin Cabaret Theatre at Parker Jazz Club! WhooHoo!! We feel very fortunate for this opportunity.
