Another great Substack! Loved each part of it and quite ticked by your playing and singing of the Downton Abbey Theme and your fab video of your Great American performance of "I Cain't say Know/Honeybun!" Love you!
Thank you, Liz. Emma might think I’m a cuckoo to post her latest job to you, but I knew you’d understand and appreciate her opportunity. It’s a really creative and fun/funny show, but also spreading the important information about endometriosis.
Wow, so much awesomeness in one post! Past, present, future--and playful artmaking! (Would love to see those collages and zines!) I loved every bit of this.
I absolutely adore Downton Abbey! And I see there’s a new Blu-ray remastered collection for a good price. Collectible.
Hey my friend Scott said he saw you at the great America reunion. I said did you go to her and say hi I’m a fan and my friend Galen says hello. I doubt that she has many other “Galen” fans! Another beautifully done post, Liz! Where are the Substack awards?
Yay! Forgot to tell you how much I loved BOOM! I truly love hearing the stories of your growing up here and the funny ways that you tell it. You’re both just hilarious. But most of all so sweet. The two of you always lift my spirits. When I return to Chicago to stay next summer, I’m hoping that I can catch the two of you LIVE In person! Loved your Downton Abbey recording. I’d love to know if you ever choose to pick up that super fan collectors edition of the Downton Abbey collection. Tata for now xo
Your journal entry says it all. Connection. That's the joy of life. Thanks for this precious memory; while we may not share the specifics, the seminal experiences we all have--likely without knowing it at the time--are touchstones, anchors, signposts along the way. Just yummy. xox
A wonderful substack. Loved “ I can’t say no” and” honeybun”. I’m also a big Downton Abbey fan. Also loved the “ Boom” livestream. Can’t wait till you and Ann get together again. ❤️
I have the feeling that I saw you at Great America back then. In the late 80s/early 90s, a group of people who had done Great America shows did what was sort of a parody of the shows which took a much more barbed view of them than I'm sure you got last week. I saw their show in the city at a cabaret space with a mostly-theater people crowd who laughed uproariously at every reference. I then saw the show in Highland Park at the now-defunct Apple Tree with an audience that was, uh, somewhat older (probably almost all are dead now) and applauded politely at the songs, but barely laughed at the satire (me and a couple of younger theater people in the audience were the only ones laughing). As much as theme park shows can be easily looked down on, you were learning what you needed to know when you were out in the real world and what to avoid. And to give a 15-year-old girl wearing braces a chance to be a star, even if just for a couple of minutes every two-to-three hours.
I love you're doing do well. I read Bucks County and honestly thought, "Oh, she can visit Christy Altomare." 😉 I didn't know you wore braces! I had years of work, from about 8 to 15, and my oldest son just got his!
That was a precious clip from your first gig! Your star power showed even then. It's great to reconnect after many years. What fun!
Thanks, Bob!
New Mexico!
When and Where?
Excited
Farmington, NM on Nov 6 (Broadway the Calla-way! with Ann.) Is that anywhere near you? onthestage.tickets/show/farmington-civic-center/6a7c99a2358c6edf7f0bac37
Oh my goodness! I am so thrilled to know this. I will be there! I have not seen this specific show. I can hardly wait!

Thank you, my sister! I'm so glad you enjoyed my stirring rendition at the piano. Who knows, maybe I'll play Sunrise, Sunset next!
Take the trip! Connect!!! Really needed to hear this one ❤️
So glad that resonated with you!
My takeaway as well. Do the thing. No regrets.
Amen.

Thanks so much, Kelsey! I am very intrigued by zine making.
This is one of your best efforts. Trust me,I'm a critic.
I swore I would never travel during the Christmas holidays again, however a trip to 54 Below on New Year's eve seems pretty inviting!
Why, thank you, Mary–that means a lot. And I'd love for you to be there on NYE!
I love this issue! Since you're not coming to the Dallas area, if it works out, I may just have to go to Houston for your show!
I hope you can. And I hope to get a show in Dallas!
You coming to Dallas would be a dream come true!
I absolutely adore Downton Abbey! And I see there’s a new Blu-ray remastered collection for a good price. Collectible.

Thanks, Galen! You are my only Galen fan!

What a marvellous Substack! Glad we were part of it - what a day we had! And your shows in London were sublime ❤️❤️
Thanks, Laura. We LOVED our time together!
Oh Liz,
What a lovely post.
I’m so glad so many of us made it to the reunion. Friday night was certainly something to treasure after 49/50 YEARS!
Not possible… and yet.
The video (well… the audio portion) from “BROADWAY!” is so much fun. At 17 you are kicking vocal butt. Do NOT let Seth R. hear that belting :-)
And dealing with an audience participation bit- no easy thing.
Wedding photo is a treasure. Don’t think I have that - do now.
Envy that trip to England. Someday.
Glad you have a bit of down time and, of course, certainly hope to see you in NYC again soon.
Now, put that “Western Barbie” away and behave yourself.
Much love,
Mark
Ha! I won't tell Seth. How lucky were we to all be together again! See you in NYC.

Thank you, Anna Marie. You should have your own Substack newsletter. You write so beautifully.
Thank you, Liz. What a lovely thing to say. 🫶
A wonderful substack. Loved “ I can’t say no” and” honeybun”. I’m also a big Downton Abbey fan. Also loved the “ Boom” livestream. Can’t wait till you and Ann get together again. ❤️
Thanks so much, Mike!
You’re very welcome

Wow. I would have loved to have seen that parody show. So many people got their start doing theme park shows. It really was great training.
So great to read. Happy Anniversary! Thanks, Ken
Thank you, Ken!

I am going to see Christy when I'm there! Glad to know I'm not the only one who wore braces that long.
